The Commercial, Civil, and Strategic Space Department is seeking a Principal Timeliness Interoperability Thread Lead to support a prime-level government satellite program. The program scope includes dissemination of data to different satellites and ground stations. The timeliness of the supplied data is critical, as decision-makers and warfighters need actionable information in near real-time. Issues such as data transmission latencies, losses, and communications bottlenecks must be well characterized and accounted for during mission operations. The Principal Timeliness Interoperability Thread Lead takes the lead role in performing analyses of these sorts. The Principal Timeliness Interoperability Thread Lead is a forward-facing role requiring constant interaction with suppliers and government customers. Strong organization and communication skills are therefore critical. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to making key contributions in a collaborative environment, pursuing innovation, and providing leadership. Required Skills: --- 8 years prior relevant experience --- Experience working space systems engineering --- Experience working on EO/IR satellite payloads --- Experience modeling satellite communications architectures including: --- Satellite-to-satellite communications --- Satellite-to-ground communications --- Latency issues --- Transmission losses --- Satellite orbit and line-of-sight effects on availability and quality of transmission --- Experience working with multi-disciplined teams, including teams at subcontractor or supplier sites --- Ability to build strong relationships with program internal and external customers --- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment --- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus --- Ability to build strong relationships with program internal and external customers --- Capable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines --- Demonstrated desire to successfully pursue new challenges, improve and broaden technical skills, seek greater responsibilities, and increase individual value to the organization --- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within one year of start date Desired Skills: --- Experience with SEIT tools such as STK, MATLAB, C++, and Python --- Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering tools (such as IBM Rational, Magic Draw, or Vitec CORE) for developing architectures and functional analysis --- Prior Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or line engineering management experience --- Experience working with government customers --- Experience supporting subsystem level assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) of EO/IR sensors --- Knowledge of US Export/Import law in regards to space technologies Required Education: Bachelor---s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline Desired Education: Master---s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date ideasinorbit 167151 Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
