Job Description Job description The Quality Assurance Technician
is responsible for inspection and testing activities using a wide
variety of analytical instruments and testing equipment to
determine compliance with customer, government, and military
specifications and standards. Inspectors make decisions as to the
acceptability of customer parts for internal processing, validate
that customer requirements have been met after processing and are
responsible for documentation of non-conformances. Responsibilities
Interpret and apply customer requirements, government and military
standards, and industry specifications for the inspection of
customer product. This includes the ability to read and interpret
blueprints and drawings for determining inspection objectives. Plan
and devise methods for conducting inspection operations. Determine
which tools, fixtures and gaging instruments are to be used and
perform equipment calibrations as necessary. Perform all mechanical
measurements applying prescribed inspection methods and standards.
Perform inspection for tolerances using various instruments
including, but not limited to the following: micrometers, vernier
calipers, bore gages, tri-roll gages, and thread wires. Set up,
calibrate, and utilize X-ray for the purpose of taking plating
thickness measurements and for determining the ratio of components
deposited for alloy plating processes. Prepare micro section
samples and interpret thickness of plating from the samples.
Perform all mathematical and algebraic calculations that testing
procedures require. Maintain records and data supporting quality
control inspection activities. Takes initiative to identify trends,
investigate causes and work with a cross-functional team to find
long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. Additional duties as
assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is
required. Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.), preferably in the fields
of business, science or technology is a plus, as is prior
inspection or quality related experience. Must be comfortable using
technology (Microsoft office, ERP systems, tablets, etc.) Must be
able to perform mathematical calculations Must be able to review
data and determine actions based on analysis and trends Must be
able to review specifications, data and other documents and
determine best course of action Must be able to present information
in a clear, logical manner to teammates and leadership team Ability
to maintain excellence and accuracy in a fast paced environment
Analytical problem solving skills Self-directed and highly
motivated This position is subject to the International Traffic in
Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR
defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident
(i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refuge Physical
Requirement This position requires extended periods of both sitting
and standing, finger and wrist dexterity for repetitive motion, and
the ability to carry up to 25 lbs. Schedule Monday --- Friday

1954 to provide precision plating to the Aviation, Aerospace,
Electronic, Interconnect, Military, Automotive and Medical
industries. Over several decades, MSI has supported the Space
Shuttle, Space Station and Space-X programs. Additionally, we are
currently under contract to provide gold plating for the NASA
mission to Mars.
